Summary Description:
Under indirect supervision, sets up furnishings and equipment for college events and functions and departmental and office moves.

Required Qualifications:
High school diploma  or equivalent work experience plus experience in events set-up and moving; valid motor vehicle operator’s license and insurability; good interpersonal skills including strong  verbal skills, problem solving, and customer relations; ability to perform professional damage-free and injury-free moving of materials; knowledge of basic computer operations; ability to operate maintenance vehicles, dolleys, and various hand tools.

Must be in good physical condition; exerts in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently lifting and moving objects; frequent stooping, kneeling, and crouching; occasional climbing of ladders and scaffolds; frequent carrying of loads up and down stairs; works in all weather conditions and in very dusty, noisy conditions; good vision and hearing; neat appearance and professional demeanor; willingness and availability to work flexible hours, early morning, evening, and weekends.

Required Qualifications:

Job Title:
Campus Safety Supervisor

Summary Description:
The Campus Safety supervisor ensures the safety and security of the college through developing relationships and through effective leadership. Serves as the senior Safety staff on campus in the absence of the Director and Associate / Assistant Director.

 

Required Qualifications:
Associate’s degree or some college education. Must have at least two years’ supervisory experience demonstrating leadership capabilities with a coaching team development philosophy; a minimum of three years’ experience in a related field demonstrating accountability, exercising good judgment, providing excellent customer service, reliability, discretion, decision-making and problem-solving abilities, and excellent interpersonal skills. Must be trained in, or have the ability to be trained in, critical incident management including the Incident Command System and the IPMBA bicycle certification program. Must be at least 21 years of age, have a valid motor vehicle operator’s license, and be insurable. Additional requirements include self-restraint in challenging situations, excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to articulate observations and explain actions, to write clear and concise reports, as well as make presentations to the campus community; good listening skills; ability to understand and follow written and verbal directions; ability to relate to and gain the confidence and cooperation of the college community; demonstrated ability to work in a multi-cultural setting; ability to deal tactfully and effectively with a wide variety of people and act calmly and rationally in an emergency; ability to work without direct supervision, handle multiple priorities, and maintain confidentiality; ability to operate computer equipment and a 2-way radio.

Physical requirements include ability to perform bicycle patrol when needed, constant walking and standing in all weather conditions; frequent climbing of stairs; occasional climbing of ladders; ability to assist emergency personnel (police, fire, EMS) with uncooperative or incapacitated individuals; running in response to emergencies; good vision and hearing.

Note: Must be able to pass a thorough background investigation that demonstrates he/she is of good moral character, has a good driving record, and has no prior convictions that impinge on honesty, trustworthiness, reliability, and ability to function as a campus safety professional who is responsible for the protection of the campus community and enforcement of campus rules and regulations including liquor laws and drug laws.
