It’s All About Traditions at the
Colorado Springs Western Street Breakfast
On June 17, all Colorado Springs residents and visitors are invited to participate in a city tradition and don their best western wear in support of The Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo and to celebrate the Colorado Springs Western Street Breakfast. So rustle up your boots, hats, and denim clothing to honor our western heritage and join fellow residents for the Colorado Springs Western Street Breakfast.
The 55th Colorado Springs Western Street Breakfast kicks off at 5:30AM in Downtown Colorado Springs at Pikes Peak and Tejon. $5.00 will get you a great breakfast including eggs, pancakes, milk, juice and coffee – children under 5 eat free. Breakfast is cooked and served by Ft. Carson volunteers. Continuing another tradition, proceeds from the breakfast will support local military and their families.
Not only will you enjoy a delicious breakfast, you will also be entertained by the Jacob Christopher Band; the Girls of the West, trick roper, performances by The Colorado Springs Conservatory, the Kids Corral, Flying W Wranglers, Native American Hoop Dancers and a drawing for prizes. Another great tradition is seeing more than 200 Pikes Peak Range Riders who will depart on horseback from the breakfast at 8:00AM.
Get ready for another tradition on June 17th with the return of the Kiddie Dress-Up Review to the street breakfast venue. The contest starts immediately following the departure of the Pikes Peak Range Riders. Participants must pre-register and completed forms are due June 16. Check in for is between 7:30-8:00 AM. Categories for the contest are Novelty Boy, Novelty Girl, Working Cowboy, Working Cowgirl, and Rodeo Arena. The top three in each category will be invited to ride in the Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo Parade on July 7, 2015. The registration form is located at cswesternstreetbreakfast.com.
Collectible wooded tokens (tickets) for the breakfast can be purchased the morning of the event or in advance at Bingo’s, Boot Barn, Cavenders, Colorado Springs Business Journal, Northwestern Mutual and The Colorado Springs Conservatory.
