US Duet Wins Silver At China Open‏

U.S. Senior National Squad members Mariya Koroleva (Concord, Calif.) and Alison Williams (Northridge, Calif.) won silver medals in duet Wednesday at the China Open Synchronized Swimming Championships in Shaoxing, China.

The China Open included swimmers from eight Chinese provinces – including China’s national team duet – and Brazil.


Koroleva, a 2012 Olympian, and Williams scored 168.1699 points in the duet, which included scores of 83.2032 points in the technical routine and 84.9667 in the free.


“They had great energy in the final. They swam very well,” said U.S. Senior National Squad coachMyriam Glez.


Fellow U.S. National Squad members Anita Alvarez (Kenmore, N.Y.) and Claire Barton (Los Gatos, Calif.) also competed in the tech and free routines. The duo scored 81.4846 points in tech.
