Between March 11, 2015 and May 20, 2015 the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office received information on seventeen (17) burglaries in the Southwest portion of Pueblo County. The items reported stolen included mostly electronics and firearms.
During the investigation, Deputies were provided a good description of a possible suspect vehicle. On May 20th Sheriff Kirk M. Taylor was leaving a meeting when he observed a vehicle matching the description given and performed a traffic stop. The vehicle was a 1998, silver, Audi sedan with a red hood.
After deputies questioned the two male occupants of the vehicle, the vehicle was seized and a search warrant for the vehicle was obtained. During the execution of the search warrant 1 firearm was located in the trunk of the vehicle. This firearm was confirmed as being stolen from one of the burglaries. A search warrant was then obtained for the residence of the owner of the vehicle.
While this investigation was occurring another suspicious vehicle was reported in this same area. Deputies were again given a vehicle and suspect description. After a tip provided by a citizen, deputies responded to an address on the Southside of Pueblo where they located the vehicle and suspects. Consent to search was obtained from the home owner.
During these searches several gaming systems, numerous firearms, televisions, assorted ammunition, and illegal narcotics were recovered.
Three suspects have been arrested; the names will not be released at this time due to the active investigation. More may be involved and additional suspects are being sought.
The Sheriff’s Office is asking the community to be vigilant in reporting any additional burglaries and suspicious activity. And provide descriptions of suspicious vehicles or people in the area by contacting the Sheriff’s Office Communications Center (719)583-6250.
