MARIANA VEGA DELIVERS AN EXTRAORDINARY PERFORMANCE IN SUPPORT OF AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL WITH LILA DOWNS, SAÚL HERNÁNDEZ AND JORDI ZINDEL
May 8th will go down in history as one of the most meaningful nights for singer-songwriter
Mariana Vega, who delighted the audience with her participation in
¡Desde Aquí!, a Mexico City concert celebrating the inauguration of the organization’s new regional human rights center, the Centro Regional Para Las Américas de la Amnistía Internacional. Mariana shared the stage with luminary artists and activists, including Saúl Hernández and Lila Downs, as well as rising star Jordi Zindel. Vega sang her hit singles “No me queda nada,” “De tu voz,” and “Mi burbuja,” and later returned to the stage to perform a special duet with Lila Downs of Fito Paez’ classic song “Yo vengo a ofrecer mi corazón” and to join in the grand finale, “Todo cambia”, the powerful anthem made famous by Mercedes Sosa.
Winner of the 2014 Latin GRAMMY for Best New Artist, Mariana is currently touring stateside, with upcoming stops in Texas (May 21stin San Antonio and May 22nd in Houston). Recently, she participated in the Billboard Latin Music Conference in Miami, and was invited to present an award at the Billboard Latin Music Awards, where she shared the stage with reggaeton duo Alexis and Fido.
