Talking about sex is important. Studies show that teens who talk with trusted adults about sex are more likely to make healthy choices, like waiting until they’re older to have sex and using birth control and condoms when they do.

By talking with teens about healthy relationships, what consent means in sexual situations and protecting themselves from unintended pregnancy and STDs — you give them the tools to make smart, safe decisions about their health and their future.

Prom nights and graduations are coming up! These are great conversation starters. With your help, teens can truly be prepared as they head toward adulthood.

We want you to be part of the larger conversation we’re having about preventing teen pregnancy in Colorado. Use hashtag #WeTalkedCO to join the online conversation on Facebook and Twitter. Tell us why YOU think talking with teens about sex is important. We want to hear!
