Azteca America once again makes you feel the passion of Mexican soccer as if you were on the field, with more matches than any other channel.  Two matches that will determine what squads will go on to the finals of the 2015 Torneo Clausura will air on the Home of Mexican Soccer with the best sports commentators in Spanish-language television and the best analysis of the Liguilla playoffs.

In the first leg of the quarter-finals, Club Santos Laguna and Tigres UANL ended their match in a 1-1 draw. With a goal scored by Javier Orozco in the 16th minute, Santos Laguna felt advancing to the semifinals was closer than ever.  Tigres, however, showed what they were made of when Joffre Guerrón scored in minute 28, making things difficult for the squad led by Pedro Caixinha.

The anticipation was palpable because if the match ended in a draw, Tigres would advance to the semifinals.  Cape Verdean soccer star Djaniny scored an impressive goal, however, that pushed Santos ahead into the semifinals.

This Thursday, Club Santos Laguna will face the Chivas Rayadas of C.D. Guadalajara, a team that is back in the semifinals after a three-year absence after knocking out local rival Club Atlas in the quarter finals.

This match can be enjoyed exclusively on Azteca America beginning this Thursday at 11:00 pm E/ 10:00 pm C/ 8:00 pm P.

On the other hand the Gallos Blancos of Querétaro F.C. advanced to the semifinals after defeating Tiburones Rojos de Veracruz with an aggregate score of 4-3.  With this, the team based at Estadio Corregidora will play its second semifinal in the top-tier Mexican soccer league.

With a goal scored by Juan Albín in the 29th minute of the first of leg of the quarter-final matches, the Tiburones Rojos held a tenuous lead, but William da Silva equalized in minute 38 with a strong kick.  It was Yasser Corona who, in stoppage time, scored a second goal for Querétaro, winning the match.

The second leg took place on Veracruz’s home turf.  Under the leadership of manager Víctor Manuel Vucetich, Querétaro had command of the ball from the start.  William da Silva scored the first goal in the 17th minute.  Édgar Andrade equalized in the second half with a goal at the 60-minute mark.  Ronaldinho scored a goal later in the match, which would be enough for Querétaro to advance to the semifinals.

Querétaro faces off this Sunday against  Pachuca, the soccer team that kicked out current champion Club América in the quarter-finals with an aggregate score of 7-5.

Do not miss this much-anticipated match between two powerful teams this Sunday: Querétaro vs Pachuca at 10:00 pm E/ 9:00 pm C/ 7:00 pm P, only on Azteca America.
