St. Patty’s DUI‏

Enjoy a Safe St. Patrick’s Weekend!

The Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office will be participating in the 2015 St. Patrick’s Day Celebration, keeping our streets safe by conducting a DUI saturation patrol.  This nightly enforcement begins March 13th and will run through March 18th.

In 2008, the State of Colorado passed House Bill 1194 which in part requires CDOT to increase the number of episodes of high visibility drunk driving law enforcement and has made funds available to pay for extra DUI patrols.  St. Patrick’s Day was identified by law enforcement as a time period that historically has had an increased number of DUI incidents.

The Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office will be participating in this enforcement period.  We hope everyone enjoys being Irish for a day.  Remember to celebrate responsibly and don’t drink and drive. Don’t press your luck and get charged with a DUI.

Don’t let your friends drink and drive remember, “A best friend is like a four leaf clover: hard to find and lucky to have”.

Sheriff Kirk M. Taylor and the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office would like to wish everyone a safe and enjoyable St. Patrick’s Day.

The Heat Is On campaign runs throughout the year with 12 specific high visibility impaired driving enforcement periods centered on national holidays and large public events. Enforcement periods can include sobriety checkpoints, saturation patrols and additional law enforcement on duty dedicated to impaired driving enforcement.
