Radio and TV personality Karli Henriquez will serve as master of ceremony for the first annual TECLA Awards taking place on Monday March 16th during Hispanicize 2015 week. The first annual Tecla Awards will showcase the impressive work that Latino digital influencers, bloggers, journalists, brands and agencies are executing in the digital multicultural space.
“Karli embodies what a TECLA award winner should be—not only is she a talented and influential Latina, but she also has a brilliant knack for social media and technology and has thousands of followers on social media herself. We couldn’t think of a better person to host an award show that recognizes the best Latinos in the digital space,” said Piera Jolly, Co-CEO of Latina Mom Bloggers and Co-Chair of the Tecla Awards.
Los Angeles based Karli began her career at Clear Channel Communications’ radio station, KIIS FM. Her talent alongside her exuberant personality landed her an on-air position. Soon she began interviewing celebrities on and off the red carpet. In 2014 after ten years with Clear Channel Communications, Henriquez left to launch her own website, Sound and Social, and is now the Vice President of Pop Programming for Dash Radio. Henriquez is also the lead TV Host for NUVTO TV and “The Collective” powered by VEVO.
Karli will lead the March 16th TECLA Awards by recognizing this year’s finalists and revealing the winners. The evening will also be co-hosted by Univision communications talent who will be revealed this week. The evening will include musical performances by Venezuelan star duo Chino y Nacho and Mr. Pauer. The first annual Tecla Awards will be held at 6:30 pm on Monday, March 16, 2015 at the JW Marriott rooftop in Downtown Miami.
