Fight Club OC – April 2nd
If the fans that packed The Hangar five weeks ago on February 2nd saw a great show, wait until the fans who have tickets or who will buy tickets for the next Fight Club OC show on April 2nd get a look at the fight card that Roy Englebrecht Promotions has put together.
How about Arif Magomedov making his USA debut for starters. He’s only the world’s #4 ranked middleweight, rated #4 by the WBA, #8 by the WBO, and #12 by the WBC. With a 13-0-8KO record this 22 year old star is no more than a year and a half away from facing the world’s best in Gennady Golovkin. But Fight Club OC fans will get to see him first on April 2nd when he faces a very tough Derrick Findley who sports an impressive 21-14-13KO record.
Plus add to this card five other undefeated boxers, two strong MMA bouts, and the pro debut of one of Orange County’s top amateur boxer’s and you have the makings of one of the best Fight Club OC shows ever, but again, that is what was said about the February 2nd show.
One interesting bout will be the pro boxing debut of Orange County’s own Reece Bennett, and what a story on Reece. A day after his 17th birthday he won the California Golden Gloves Tournement but the pressures of mulitple AP classes at San Clemente high and taking up with the wrong crowd turned Reese’s life upside down. There will be more on Reese’s back-story in a future e-mail blast in the coming weeks. A San Clemente High 2007 graduate, 2012 US Olympic Qualifier Quarterfinalist, a two-time National team member, and a 2014 UC Irvine Summa Cum Laude graduate. Reese has all the tools both in his hands and head to have just an excellent pro career and it all starts with his Pro Debut on April 2nd.
