Bobcat Goldthwait In Person!

“One of the most original and intelligent voices in American independent cinema.’ – Timeout London

We are very excited that three-time Sundance director Bobcat Goldthwait will be doing a Q &A after the screening of his film, Call Me Lucky on Friday, March 6, at the Boulder Theater, 7:30pm.

Direct from Sundance, Call Me Lucky is a documentary about the hellfire brand of comedy of Barry Crimmins. Alternately self-effacing and scathing, his ribald comedy took audiences by forces into his never-ending war on ignorance, and he has discovered and supported the development of many of today’s comedians. After a highly successful career, Crimmins retired and went back to his own dark and painful past, one that inspired his intense campaign of activism to help save others from child abuse. Variety says “Call Me Lucky is a terrifically engaging surprise.”

Bobcat Goldthwait is a legendary comedian and critically acclaimed filmmaker. His award-winning movies include Willow Creek, God Bless America, World’s Greatest Dad, Sleeping Dogs Lie, Windy City Heat and the cult classic Shakes the Clown.

In 2013 Goldthwait was named director of the year by Esquire Magazine for his dark comedy God Bless America.

As a television director, Goldthwait has worked on such shows as Maron, Chappelle’s Show, Important Things With Demetri Martin and directed Jimmy Kimmel Live for three years. He has also directed comedy specials for Patton Oswalt, Anjelah Johnson and Morgan Murphy.
