Vanessa Zamora’s emotive vocals coupled with her personal lyrical style has captivated audiences in her native Mexico.
Only in her early 20’s the Tijuana, Baja California native has already created the aura of an artist who has been around for quite some time. She’s quickly positioned herself as a steadfast interpreter of alternative pop who has two feet firmly planted in the Indie DIY world.
Vanessa’s debut album “Hasta La Fantasia” (To The Fantasy) – out Feb 3rd – has created a buzz amongst key tastemakers. For this project Zamora teamed up with Alejandro Jimenez (also known as recording artist “Jandro” and producer/engineer for Carla Morrison) to create a fresh, relevant yet melancholic record. Songs such as “Correr” (Run), and “Te Quiero Olvidar” (I Want To Forget You) reel you in with a distinctive voice and stirring tones that go beyond the acoustic guitar vibes. The lyrics possess a candid realness that makes you feel as Vanessa is singing about you, the listener. “Hasta La Fantasia” ushers you into her fantastical world of love, hope, despair and the universal desire to be loved and love back hard.
Zamora has recently shared the center stage with the likes of: Natalia LaFourcade, Ceci Bastida, La Santa Cecilia, and Ely Guerra. Now Vanessa plans to emerge the U.S. beginning in January 2015.
