Launch of The Colorado Grand Resort and Hotel‏

Gary Erickson, President of Northgate Properties, LLC and developer of the new 200-acre Polaris Pointe shopping center on Colorado Springs’ north side, announces the launch of The Colorado Grand Resort and Hotel. Groundbreaking is scheduled to begin in May 2015 with a targeted opening in Summer 2016.

The Colorado Grand Resort and Hotel will be located between the new Northgate / I25 interchange and the future Powers / I25 interchange. This location overlooks the Air Force Academy and the entire Front Range, adjacent to the new Bass Pro Shops. In the future, there will also be an 800,000 square foot life-center mall, with shopping, restaurants and open-air venues.

The first phase of the hotel will feature 165 rooms including executive-style rooms, family-style rooms that sleep 6 and include bunk beds, and family suites with kitchens and great rooms that sleep 8. There will also be a timeshare model for guests who might be considering regular visits to the area. There will be a state-of–the-art fitness center featuring Precor equipment. Phase 2 of the hotel will include additional rooms, including more timeshares and more amenities.

Water Park

Integrity Pool Builders, which has been involved in water parks, commercial pools and Olympic swimming venues worldwide, has joined forces with Whitewater West Industries to make this an unforgettable, Rocky-Mountain themed family experience. Whitewater has completed over 4,000 projects in the past 33 years and has designed and supplied the world’s best indoor and outdoor waterparks.

Below is the description of The Resort Waterpark, as described in the Integrity Pool Builders and Whitewater West Industries marketing collateral:

The Colorado Grand Resort and Hotel has been designed with the guest experience at the forefront.  This 60,000 square foot signature indoor waterpark will be awaiting its patrons.

The Rocky Mountain themed Aquaplay will be a water factory of fun designed for all age groups, complete with interactive waterplay features, waterslides, spraying pipes, leaking faucets, water blasters and a 300-gallon tipping bucket.

The Colorado Grand will be the best indoor waterpark in a 500-mile radius and will feature 10 waterslides! The Poolsider Body Flume will take guests from one side of the park to the other. Two Giant Aquatubes will feature high-capacity, 2-person thrills, as guests twist and turn outside the park in a mostly dark ride experience. Guests waiting in queue will watch in amazement as two riders at a time pull high-Gs in our signature SuperBowl ride. And finally, only the most adventuresome will dare to plummet 53 feet straight down the Translucent Flatline Loop, which is a heart-pounding experience never to be forgotten!

Guests will have access to locker rooms, an arcade and a waterside bar and grill. Overlooking the waterpark will be a balcony viewing area, complete with big-screen TVs for parents and grandparents to relax and enjoy a drink.

Day passes will be available for local residents who want to take advantage of the hotel and waterpark amenities, but who are not staying at the hotel.

Convention Space

The convention space will be available for weddings, parties, and business meetings and will offer stunning views of the Front Range and the Air Force Academy.

Polaris Pointe

Polaris Pointe currently includes Bass Pro Shops, Magnum Shooting Center, Bourbon Brothers restaurant, Uncle Buck’s Fishbowl, C.B.& Pott’s restaurant, El Padrino’s restaurant, Carl’s Jr, Costa Vida, Jimmy John’s, Pizza Hut and Orange Leaf Yogurt.  Plans are in place for construction to start this year to add Sprouts Farmers Market, Ace Hardware, Kneaders Bakery and Café, Mikado Asian Bistro, SafeSplash Swim School, Boot Barn, Overdrive Go-Cart Racing and more.
