Hundreds of Wines at the Grand Tasting

While the Wines of Italy are being featured at this year’s Wine Festival seminars and Gourmet Wine Dinner, wines FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD will be shown at the Grand Tasting on Friday evening, February 20 at The Broadmoor Colorado Hall.

The lists are still coming in to the gang Coaltrain Wine & Spirits, who, as always, isspearheading the wine acquisition, but you will have the chance to taste wines from the Northern Hemisphere (Europe, including Italy of course, and the U.S.) and the Southern Hemisphere (Chile and Argentina, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand). Every varietalis included…Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, Riesling, Merlot, Pinot Grigio, Malbec, Gewurztraminer, Syrah … we could go on and on.

And did we mention the beer that will be poured? We live in a state of craft brewing, so youcan expect some tasty sips in that area. There will be more wine to taste in the three hours at the Grand Tasting than you could normally consume in three months! It is a great opportunity to see what strikes your fancy. And our incredible distributors, who will be therepouring, are veritable fonts of information. They can steer you in the right direction for your palate.

Okay, so we haven’t even talked about the food. The crew from Picnic Basket/Cravings Catering have recruited the area’s best and brightest restaurants and caterers to prepare their specialties. Just check out the “Best Of” lists – most of them will be at the Grand Tasting. They give up a Friday night at their own businesses to support the Colorado Springs Conservatory – we can’t thank them enough!

Oh, and did we mention the Silent Auction? And the dancing? Once again, Dan O. of Laser Sound will probably have to be shut down at some point, because people never want to leave when he is DJ’ing. The dancing can pretty crazy, as everyone is feeling quite good at this point! It’s a fun night, we’re not going to lie!
