New Horizons Band Of Colorado Springs Slates Pre-Thanksgiving Concert‏

Under the direction of Ed Nuccio, the New Horizons Band of Colorado Springs has slated a pre-Thanksgiving Concert for Friday night, November 21st.  Location will again be the Cheyenne Mountain High School, 1200 Cresta Road, 7:30 p.m.

As a special feature for this concert, Nuccio has chosen a Bassoon Soloist, Brian Norris, who will perform Albert Vaulet’s Etude #16.

Additionally, Norris has chosen 3 Symphonic players from the band for a Woodwind Quartet who will play Gioacchino Rossini’s Wind Quartet #1, Movement 1, Allegro Moderato.  Along with him will be Rebecca Arnold on Flute, Mark Rankin playing Clarinet, and Rob Taylor, Horn.

As always, the evening will open at 7:00 with Thomas Tabrah at the Keyboard as well as during Intermission.  The Concert Band will be featured during the first half and will play an interesting variety of pieces including the timely COLORS OF FALL by Rob Romeyn — while  the Symphonic Band will perform the very beautiful LET US REJOICE:  FANFARE AND HYMN in observance of Thanksgiving.

Tickets for the evening’s performance will be available from any band member for $2 or at the door on concert night.  For further information, contact Ed or Mary Nuccio, 634-2463 or enuccio@aol.com.
