“Iglesias already holds the record for the most NUMBER ONES on the Hot Latin Songs (25), having scored his first in 1995 with “Si Tu Te Vas.” Nineteen years later, “Bailando” shatters the NUMBER ONE  run of every other chart-topping song in the chart’s 28-year history”– Amaya Mendizábal, Billboard, Oct. 29, 2014.

Enrique Iglesias never stops writing. He knows that songs are the fuel that keep his career alive. His unique voice and undeniable charisma, paired with a host of record breaking career achievements have made him the most important Latin artist in the world.  But his songs have allowed him to stay relevant, not only amongst his fans but also at the top throughout a 19 year career, that many can only dream of. Enrique may have already turned in an album, but the next day he’s already thinking of new tracks. He’s always thinking of ways to continue growing. He never stops… He is also willing to go back and dig up old compositions. Songs are the most important thing to him. With “Bailando”, Enrique Iglesias has broken a record that took 9 years to be surpassed. Lots have gotten close to the 25 week record, but no one had surpassed it, until “Bailando” came along.

“You don’t know how successful a song is going to be. I have a tendency to always go with my gut. Sometimes you’re right, sometimes you’re wrong.”Bailando” just felt special. I want to thank my team at Universal, you guys rock! I know how hard you’ve worked and how difficult it is. I care for you deeply and I know that you care for me too. I feel at home, here at Universal.” expressed Enrique Iglesias.

Jesus Lopez, Chairman/CEO Universal Music Latin America & Iberian Peninsula, said: “Songs continue to be the motor that drives music and hits are made of a great song and teamwork. Enrique has worked hard to achieve the worldwide success of “Bailando” and this record is the result of great collaborative work between Enrique himself, the Universal Music Latino team, the media and the fans. Thank you all for a magnificent job.

Fresh off of the first leg of his North American Tour alongside Pitbull and J Balvin, which delivered 24 sold-out arena shows at some of the most important cities of the U.S. and Canada, Enrique will continue on to Europe where he will perform shows in Spain, France, Holland, Ireland, Lithuania, Russia and Finland. He will then return to the U.S. at the beginning of 2015 for a second leg of his North American tour with 12 additional shows.
