The Air Force men’s soccer (1-0-2) played Army (1-1-1) to a 0-0 tie after two overtimes Sunday morning at Clinton Field. The match was played a day late after lightning postponed the match Saturday night.
The teams were even in shots, taking 19 apiece. Air Force held a 5-2 advantage in corners.
Sophomore Jake Shenk posted his first shutout of the season, recording five saves in goal for the Falcons.
Sophomore Blake Elder led the Falcons with four shots, including two on goal. Trey Pujats, Zachary Modly, Alex Frazier, Gus Jensen and Zach Hill added two shots each.
Air Force tied both of its matches vs. service academies this season. The Falcons opened the season with a 1-1 tie against Navy. It was the first time since 2008 that Air Force played both Army and Navy.
Air Force returns to action Friday, Sept. 12, hosting New Hampshire.
