Argentina’s Sol Pereyra (by way of Mexico City where she now calls home) has been the go-to musician for GRAMMY-Winning artists such as
Julieta Venegas, Carla Morrison, and Natalia LaFourcade for the better part of a decade-all the while releasing 2 critically acclaimed solo records
Bla Bla Bla and Comunmixta. Sol returns with Tirame Agua which will be out on Cosmica Records on AUGUST 19. Produced by longtime collaborator Silvano Zetina in Mexico City, Tirame Agua culls from both previous albums in terms of vibe and wit yet manages to balance personal triumphs and conflicts with politics of the world like never before.
Pereyra’s own live theatrical background serves as a foundation for the lyrical images she’s able to paint and for her engaging live performances in places like Mexico City, Buenos Aires, Rio de Janeiro, New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco. On record Sol melds this finesse with a D.I.Y attitude, bringing a rich satisfaction to the listener. This is not lightweight listening. Twangy guitars, lo fi keyboards, trumpets and an assortment of percussion accompany Sol throughout songs such as “Agua”, “Celosa”, “Buenas Noches” and the digital exclusive “Vola Pescado.”
Pereyra can be seen/heard on the upcoming Kinky MTV Unplugged record. She will also celebrate the release of Tirame Agua with her biggest solo show to date-headlining the famed Lunario Auditorium in Mexico City on Sept 9. Select dates in Mexico, South America and the United States will be announced in the fall.
