Circus and Shakespeare Summer Camps start tomorrow‏

We have a few student performer openings for our two week “Make a Circus” and “Shakespeare at Ivywild” summer camps.  These special half day camps begin tomorrow and run through August 1st.

Monday-Friday 9:30 to 12:30 2 weeks $255

July 21-25 & July 28-Aug 1

Join us for a two-week acting intensive where you’ll discover a Shakespeare that is fun, relevant and oh so outrageous! We’ll use theatre exercises, on-your- feet language explorations, in depth character and scene studies and creative text analysis to bring the characters and language of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” to life. Scenes, sonnets and soliloquies come together in an original site-specific performance for friends, family and the public!

Make A Circus Camp

Ages 9 -12

Mondays Friday 1pm to 4pm 2 weeks $255

July 21, 22, 23, 24, 25 & 28, 29, 30, 31 Aug 1

Join the circus! In this two week intensive camp you’ll learn acrobatics, juggling, tightrope walking, unicycling, stilt walking, trapeze, aerial silk and clowning on stage at the MAT. Led by seasoned circus performer, Jim Jackson, each class is tailored to the unique skills and interests of each student.

Final Performance: Aug 1 @ 3:30

Middle and high school students

Monday-Friday 1pm to 4pm 1 week $135

Smash some dishes and discover the enchanting creations that emerge when broken tiles, found objects and a little imagination come into play. In this week long design and build class you’ll create a unique work of art for yourself and participate in the creation of a public sculpture for the MAT!

Get ready for some messy fun as you explore the seasons in this hilarious process-based creative drama camp where every day is a different weather adventure.

Gather your gumboozle and pull out your pamtunckle and come along as we create our very own Seussian tale full of outrageous, cartoon characters, flamboyant costumes and mischievous word play!
