Public’s Assistance Sought-Attempted Abduction of 5-Year Old

On June 12, 2014, at 9:07PM, Officers from Colorado Springs Police Department responded to the 4300 Block of E. Pikes Peak Ave., regarding an attempted kidnapping of a 5 year old female child.


During the attempted kidnapping, the suspect grabbed the female while she was playing outside.  He attempted to carry her away from the area however he released her a short time later.  The child was able to walk home.  The victim sustained minor injuries during the attempted abduction.


Shortly after finding the child, family members observed a male running from the area.  It is unknown if this male was the person who attempted to abduct the child.  Detectives have been conducting an investigation into this incident and are seeking the public’s assistance.


The male running from the area is described as a Hispanic male, 5’ 0” tall with a thin build, black hair in a bowl cut and a black goatee.  He was last seen wearing a long sleeve blue shirt.   Police wish to conduct an interview with this male to determine his involvement or to see if he observed any suspicious activity in the area at the time of the attempted abduction.
