The Colorado Department of Revenue’s Division of Motor Vehicles will reschedule the Senate Bill 13-251 Rulemaking Hearing that was scheduled for Thursday, May 15, 2014. The Rulemaking Hearing is being rescheduled for the Department to work through additional processes and procedures for the implementation of SB 13-251. Once the Rulemaking Hearing is rescheduled the information will be provided to the community.
SB 13-251, Colorado Road and Community Safety Act affords individuals who are not U.S. citizens, including those who can demonstrate lawful presence, to be issued a Driver’ License, Instruction Permit, or Identification Card if the applicant meets the criteria stated in the Act. In order to successfully implement the Act now known as the Driver License and ID Cards for Individuals who are not U.S. Citizens Program, the Department must promulgate rules.
