District 11 Students Win Medals at Colorado FCCLA State Conference
Six students from Holmes Middle School competed at the 2014 Colorado State Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) Conference, and all six students came home with medals. The Holmes students competed in the categories of Illustrated Talk, Career Investigation, Focus on Children, and Recycle & Redesign.
Aria Schleiker and Sarah Ford received a gold medal in the Focus on Children event. Ryker Seats lead the Recycling & Redesign project and received gold. Neyalla Gallagher and Talia Traxler presented their Illustrated talk and received gold. Sam Strait presented his finding on Broadcast Journalism and earned silver. All gold recipients scoring the top two highest scores will go to Nationals, which will be held in San Antonio, Texas in July.
Colorado FCCLA is one of 52 state chapters of National Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America. FCCLA is a Career and Technical Student Organization focusing on family, career preparation, and leadership development. The Colorado FCCLA started in 1946 and has grown to over 100 chapters with over 2100 members.
