WHY: Fundraiser. In Colorado, a child is abused or neglected every hour, every day. Families First is the only local organization offering Circle of Parents groups, parenting classes, a bi-lingual support line and a residential treatment center focused on the prevention and treatment of child abuse. Families First’s mission is to create a community that educates parents, nurtures children and strengthens families.
PHOTO OPPORTUNITY & ENTERTAINMENT: Guests this year will have the opportunity for a photo op in front of a classic collector’s 1920’s car. The entertainment will feature The Bill Wissing Jazz ensemble during cocktails and the world renowned performer Jill Car & the Funkology Band for dancing after dinner.
WHO: Families First, serving Colorado families by empowering parents and nurturing children in a welcoming, non-judgmental way since 1986, provides a centralized location for weekly parent support groups, the bi-lingual Family Support Line, parent education classes and Consejos Para Familias (services for Spanish speaking parents). Across the street, the Families First Children’s Center offers residential treatment for children who have been victims of physical abuse, neglect, emotional maltreatment or sexual abuse. The end goal is to prepare children for a loving forever home.
