 In preparation for what will be a match-up for the ages between former WBC Super Welterweight World Champion Canelo Alvarez and hard-hitting Mexican warrior Alfredo “El Perro” AnguloGolden Boy Promotions and Leigh Simons Productions will present “Countdown to Canelo vs. Alvarez.” This primetime special 30-minute preview show will air on various FOX Sports platforms beginning this Sunday, Feb. 23 and will feature never-before-seen footage of Canelo, Angulo and the SHOWTIME PPV-televised undercard fighters including Leo Santa Cruz, Cristian Mijares, Ricardo Alvarez, Omar Figueroa, Carlos Molina and Jermall Charlo.


Tune into any of the FOX Sports Network channels, FOX Sports, FOX Sports 1, FOX Sports 2 FOX Deportes and Televisa (check your local listings) for a behind-the-scenes look at the stars of this highly anticipated pay-per-view event taking place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.


The countdown show, brought to life by Producer and Creative Director of Golden Boy Promotions Leigh Simons, will provide audiences with exclusive analysis and commentary leading up to the mega-event.

 “TOE TO TOE: Canelo vs. Angulo,” a 12-round super welterweight fight taking place Saturday, March 8 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, is promoted by Golden Boy Promotions and Canelo Promotions and sponsored by Corona, AT&T and Casamigos Tequila. In world title fights on the undercard, Two-Division World Champion Leo “Terremoto” Santa Cruz (27-0-1, 15 KOs) will defend his WBC Super Bantamweight World Title against former Three-Time World Champion Cristian “El Diamante” Mijares (49-7-2, 24 KOs); exciting young star Omar “Panterita” Figueroa (24-0-1, 17 KOs) will risk his WBC Lightweight Title against Canelo’s brother Ricardo “Dinamita” Alvarez (23-2-3, 14 KOs) and “King” Carlos Molina (22-5-2, 6 KOs) will defend his IBF Junior Middleweight Championship against undefeated Jermall Charlo (17-0, 13 KOs). Carlos Molina vs. Jermall Charlo is presented by Golden Boy Promotions in association with Warriors Boxing.  This event will be produced and distributed live by SHOWTIME PPV beginning at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT.
