History Colorado workshop in San Luis Valley 11-15-13‏

Learn How the Sangre de Cristo National Heritage Area Affects You.

Join representatives from the Sangre de Cristo National Heritage Area and History Colorado to learn about how the designation of the Sangre de Cristo National Heritage Area affects you. Representatives will discuss what the designation means to those who live within the boundary, how preservation of historic (public and private) properties within the boundary will be affected, what types of funding may be available to residents and more!

Why should you attend the workshop? Heritage areas present opportunities for residents and visitors to celebrate a region’s cultural, natural, scenic, historic and recreational resources, but the benefits go beyond formal recognition. Heritage areas sprout partnerships among residents, businesses, nonprofit organizations, educational institutions, local governments and state and federal agencies that create more livable and economically sustainable regions.

The workshop will take place on Friday, November 15 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at La Jara Town Hall, 221 Broadway, La Jara, CO. The workshop is FREE for all Sangre de Cristo National Heritage Area residents.
