Local Fathers Who Lost Their Homes in Black Forest Fire to be Honored at Father~Daughter Event at the Broadmoor Hotel

Regal Daughters

Generations of Light ministry will be hosting the fourteenth annual Father~Daughter Purity Ball at the Grand Ballroom of the Broadmoor Hotel on Saturday, October 19, beginning at 6:00pm. This event includes an elegant three course dinner, worship dance presentation by the Regal Daughters Ballet Company, and a special award recognizing three fathers in their annual Father of the Year presentation. At 12:00 midnight, the dancing will cease and glamour lavished princesses will exit the premises with happy memories of a special evening spent with their dad.

“This year we are looking forward to honoring three very special men who have been involved with our ball for many years,” says Generations of Light and Ball co-founder, Lisa Wilson of Colorado Springs. “We can’t begin to imagine what it is like to lose everything we own, yet that is exactly what happened this past summer to three of our dear friends. We very much admire the way each of these men has led their families through good times and bad.”

The Father~Daughter Purity Ball has been featured in several full-length documentaries, television and radio programming including: Good Morning America, the Today Show, FOX News, The New York Times, and the Tyra Banks Show. International news outlets have covered the ball over the years including Channel 7 News from Sydney, Australia. This year ABC’s Nightline team will be on site covering the event.

“We have scaled back on news outlets we are allowing in to cover the ball,” says Wilson. “We love sharing the beauty of the night with the world but we also try to preserve the sweetness of the evening allowing fathers to really focus on their daughters.”

At six o’clock in the evening the ball will officially begin with a three course dinner prepared by the Broadmoor’s famed cooking staff. Dinner will be followed by a presentation of the Father of the Year awards. Before the ballroom dancing begins, the Regal Daughters Ballet Company will provide a brief performance. “Our dancers have been rehearsing for weeks and will inspire joy and celebration of the special father/daughter relationship,” says Wilson.

“This evening is especially designed to give fathers an opportunity to embrace purity in their lives,” says ball co-founder, Randy Wilson, who is Lisa’s husband. “Many fathers I know value nothing more than their families. Yet, they often lack the means to express their devotion and commitment. This is a wonderful way for fathers to share their heartfelt dedication. My own five daughters have loved this elegant night of celebration and continue to be part of it even though three of them are now married and have growing families of their own.”
