The Country Fair is Goin’ to Town‏

On Sunday, August 25th, Friends for Families First will hold The Country Fair, its annual family-oriented fundraising event at Four Mile Historic Park.  Patrons will enjoy a country BBQ, live music by the Walker Williams Band, dancing, a bag toss/corn hole tournament, stage-coach rides, baked goods, a dutch-oven cooking demonstration, a kids corral, a silent auction and more!  The event starts at 5 p.m. and tickets start at $40 for adults, $15 for children (5-14 years) and children 4 years and under are FREE.  Tickets must be purchased in advance and are available at www.FamiliesFirstColorado.org or by calling (303) 745-0327.

Additionally, the creative “Pigs on Pedestals” (a herd of cleverly embellished ceramic piggy banks that have been on tour throughout the Denver-metro area) will be auctioned off during the event, with all proceeds benefiting Families First.

The Country Fair is part of Families First’s Drive for Community $Change$.  This year-long program encourages people to adopt a piggy bank, keep it in a prominent place at home or work and fill it with “change”.  Piggy bank parents are then invited to The Country Fair where their piggy banks are “weighed-in” and the change donated to Families First.  The Country Fair is one of the few fundraising events in the Denver area in which parents are strongly encouraged to bring their children.

Families First has been serving the Colorado community for over 27 years. Families First provides a bi-lingual Support Line (1-800-CHILDREN), parenting classes, Circle of Parents support groups, and a residential treatment center for abused children. Our mission is to end child abuse through empowering parents, nurturing children, and strengthening families.   To discover the many ways you can get Involved, please visitwww.FamiliesFirstColorado.org or call (303) 745-0327.
