Jennifer Pharr Davis,

Appalachian Trail Endurance Hiker &
2012 National Geographic Adventure of the Year

Two-time Appalachian Trail thru-hiker Jennifer Pharr Davis wanted to test her limits. In 2011, with the support of her husband Brew and the dedicated group of volunteers dubbed the “Pit Crew,” she hiked , stumbled, and sometimes crawled the 2181 mile Appalachian Trail in 46 days (and average of 47 miles per day), becoming the fastest person to hike the trail and the first woman to ever set the mark.

Garden of the Gods Foundation invites you to join Jennifer and Naturalists from Garden of the Gods Visitor & Nature Center on Saturday, September 21, for a 1.5 mile leisurely walk through the Central Garden of Garden of the Gods Park. The walk, appropriate for all ability levels, will be followed by a 45 minute presentation in the theatre at Garden of the Gods Visitor & Nature Center. Jennifer’s story is not just about records or numbers; it’s about endurance, faith, and most of all love. She will present selected slides from over 12,000 miles of long-distance hiking she has completed on six different continents followed by a Q & A session about her hiking exploits. Following the presentation, Jen will be selling & signing copies of her new book titled “Called Again: A Story of love and Triumph”, which Kirkus Reviews has called “an inspired exploration of the meaning of commitment.”
