The University of Colorado women’s basketball team begins preparations this week for their trip to Italy scheduled for Aug. 12-21.
Colorado is allowed 10 full team practices leading up to the European trip. The Buffaloes will have three of those practices this week, beginning Wednesday at the Coors Events Center while the final seven will take place in early August.
Details are still be finalized for the 10-day trip to Italy, but are expected to include at least three games and plenty of travel including stops in Rome, Venice, Florence, Lake Como and Milan.
“We are excited to get our team on the floor and prepare for Italy,” CU head coach Linda Lappe said. “This will be a great opportunity to improve our team dynamic as well as integrating our four new freshmen into the mix.”
Ten letterwinners, including four starters, return from Colorado’s 2012-13 squad that finished 25-7 and advanced to the program’s 13th NCAA Tournament, and first since 2004.
