Senator Gwen Margolis designates July 21 “Joe Granda Day” in Florida

The promoter and artistic producer was honored

at the gala for “Fashion + Music + Art Tropical

Paradise Extravaganza,” one of the events held

in Miami Beach during Mercedes Benz Fashion Week

 

Designer Guio Domínguez, Frida Sofía Guzmán Pinal,

Laura Ferreti, María Requenel, Mexican singer and

actor Gustavo Pedraza and Luis Caballero, Mexican

movie and TV star, were among the celebrities

who attended the event

 

The award was presented to Granda by Miami Beach

Commissioner Michael Góngora, who is running for

mayor of that city 

 

Among the special guests in attendance on Joe Granda

night were the Venezuelan singers Sophy and Norka, who

joined the festivities in honor of the respected activist

 

 Big Night turned into acelebration that will last a lifetime when Senator Gwen Margolis named July 21 “Joe Granda Day” in Florida at the gala for “Fashion + Music + Art Tropical Paradise Extravaganza,” part of  the activities held in Miami Beach during Mercedes Benz Fashion Week.
 
The Cuban-born promoter and artistic producer was recognized for his efforts on behalf of the LBGT (lesbian, bisexual, gay and transgender)community and received his award from Miami Beach Commissioner Michael Góngora, who is also running for mayor of that city.
 
Frida Sofia Guzmán Pinal, Laura Ferreti, María Renequel,Mexican singer and actor Gustavo Pedraza as well as Luis Caballero, Mexican movie and television actor, were there for the fashion show by Colombian designer Guio Domínguez.
 
Granda, the star of the evening, sang with Venezuelan singers,Sophy and Norka, who joined the festivities honoring the activist.
 
Granda studied business administration at Miami Dade College, later working for established clubs and organizing talent contests. He worked with the big record labels in the industry, such as Sony, BMG, Universal Music Latino, EMI-Televisa, WEA Latina, Estefan Enterprises and Univision Music.
 
Joe Granda’s tireless work on behalf of the LGBT community is legendary. It includes an endless list of stars and countless productions: albums, songs and events to bring awareness to the plight of this often neglected community. And, now, finally, Granda too has his day.
