Last chance for College Prep Summer Program at OJC

Final Start Smart sessions to be offered July 29 – August 9

Otero Junior College will be offering a series of free college prep programs during the summer for students who may not have tested high enough on Accuplacer, the college placement exam, to enroll in 100-level college courses in English or math. The summer program also offers students a refresher biology course to help prepare students for college biology next fall. All sessions are free of charge.

Start Smart, the college prep program, will be held during the summer for English, math, reading, writing and biology. The final series will be held July 29-August 9 and will include English, math, reading, writing and biology.

Students who successfully complete the English, reading, writing and math programs will be able to re-test with Accuplacer to hopefully advance their college readiness scores and enroll in higher level college courses in English and math.

Students who complete the biology program should have the basic skills to be successful in college-level biology.
