On July 17, 2013 the former undersheriff for the Montezuma County Sheriff’s Office turned himself in to police following a warrant being issued for his arrest in connection with the alleged misuse of county funds.
Robin Cronk, (DOB: 08/20/1970), a resident of Mancos, was processed at the Montezuma County Sheriff’s Office Jail on charges of embezzlement of public funds and misconduct.
The criminal investigation by agents with the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) revealed Cronk allegedly purchased items for personal use over an extended period of time.
Further details about the case are not being released as the warrant is sealed at this time.
Cronk is free on bond. His first court appearance is slated for Thursday, July 18, 2013 at 2:30 p.m.
Cronk was arrested on one count of Embezzlement of Public Funds (class 5 felony) and one count of First Degree Official Misconduct (class 2 misdemeanor).
Cronk resigned from his post as undersheriff in late June.
