In accordance with Colorado law, the Department of Corrections has notified the Colorado Springs Police Department that Johnny Reyes will be on parole supervision and living in the city of Colorado Springs. Reyes is a sex offender whose past behavior has led him to be labeled a “Sexually Violent Predator” (SVP) by the parole board. Accordingly, the Colorado Springs Police Department has made “community notification” as required by law and undertaken the following tasks, among others:
v Notified the D.O.C. Sex Offender Management Board (SOMB) Notification Team.
v Reviewed and confirmed Reyes’ residence, employment, access to vehicles, legal status, and past crimes.
v Briefed patrol personnel on Reyes’ status, history, appearance, residence, employment and vehicles.
v Notified surrounding law enforcement agencies.
v Provided an online video that describes the SVP community notification process, SVP information and additional resources for the community.

The Colorado Springs Police Department will make all reasonable efforts to ensure that Reyes registers as a sex offender and that he understands his responsibilities as such. Reyes is currently under supervision by the Colorado Department of Corrections Community Parole Office.
Reyes’ criminal history reveals that he was convicted of Attempted Rape in the Third Degree in 1999 in Suffolk County New York.
Reyes has also been convicted of Felony Menacing and Second Degree Assault in El Paso County Colorado in 2006, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Fraud in Florida in 2004, Failure to Register as a Sex Offender in Florida in 2002, Larceny in New York in 1998 and 1999 and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in New York in 1999.
Reyes is registered with the Colorado Springs Police Department and currently resides at 3033 E Platte Avenue #105, Colorado Springs, CO 80909. He is described as a Hispanic male, 38 years of age, 5’9” tall, 160 lbs, with brown hair and hazel eyes.
Reyes is one of twelve (12) “Sexually Violent Predators” currently registered with the Colorado Springs Police Department who reside in this community.
