Sangre de Cristo Heritage Area Seeks New Members‏

Sangre de Cristo National Heritage Area Board Seeks New Members:

The Sangre de Cristo National Heritage Area (SdCNHA) Board of Directors announces the opportunity for local area residents to become engaged with the work of the Heritage Area.  The Board is looking to fill two openings representing Costilla and Alamosa counties.  These positions are   at-large and do not need be associated with agencies or government entities.  Volunteers in these positions represent the voice of citizens and constituents who support local heritage preservation efforts and the community oriented mission of the Heritage Area and who are willing to commit to one meeting per month (last Wednesday of the month).  Local projects have included historic building rehabilitation, interpretation of historic and scenic/recreational sites, educational programming and cultural events, and documentation of culturally significant components of local traditional ways of life. These efforts seek to contribute to community building or heritage tourism, promote a spirit of pride and self-reliance, and create a legacy in the Colorado counties of Alamosa, Conejos and Costilla.
