THE SINGER-SONGWRITER’S “LA MUSICA NO SE TOCA” TOUR CONTINUES AT THE HISTORIC RADIO MUSIC HALL IN NEW YORK CITY
LOS ANGELES, CA (Thursday May 3, 2013) – Alejandro Sanz arrived in the United States demonstrating his live concert’s enormous drawing power and undeniable force. The singer-songwriter opened up the US leg of his acclaimed “La Musica No Se Toca” tour last night with a complete sell-out at the Nokia Theater located inside the LA LIVE Complex in Los Angeles.
During his first concert in the U.S., the artist was received by a capacity crowd that celebrated his songs throughout the unbelievable night. The energetic audience sang-along to each and every one of his songs, yelling and applauding to each musical note during the nearly two hour concert. Classic songs such as “Desde cuando” and “Looking for Paradise”, as well as new hits such as “Camino de rosas”, “Nome compares” and “Se Vende” put the crowd on their feet. “Y si fuera ella” and “Amiga mia” were the final songs of the night and closed out the successful first US tour date which began with music by the night’s opening act, Puerto Rican artist Christian Pagan. In addition, Alejandro Sanz was joined on stage by Arturo Sandoval, his guest artist, and one of the most recognized jazz artists in the genre.
The day before the concert, Sanz participated in a special press conference where he received multiple awards for the high International sales of his album, “La Musica No Se Toca”. In addition, the city of Los Angeles named April 30, 2013 the official “Alejandro Sanz Day” in the city.
“La Musica No Se Toca” is the most successful Latin pop album of in the world. It has been certified quintuple-platinum in Spain, double-platinum in Colombia and Mexico, platinum in Venezuela and Argentina and gold in the United States, Puerto Rico, Brazil, Uruguay, Chile, Central America, Ecuador and Perú. The album debuted at #1 on the Top Latin Albums chart published by Billboard and continues to be the highest-selling Latin pop album in the United States and Puerto Rico, maintaining this position since its release last September. The first single from the album, “No Me Compares”, was #1 on the “Hot Latin Songs” chart and reached #1 in sales on iTunes in the US and 18 countries around the world.
