Governor Hickenlooper along with legislative sponsors and students from across Colorado will celebrate Colorado ASSET being signed into law. Colorado ASSET allows all students who have attended a Colorado High School for three years and meet additional criteria to attend a public Colorado college or university at the in-state tuition rate.
WHO: Governor John Hickenlooper, Lt. Governor Joe Garcia, State Senators & Representatives, Metropolitan State University of Denver President Stephen Jordan, student representative Marco Dorado, as well as ASSET students and supporters from across the state.
WHAT: The Governor will sign Colorado ASSET SB 33 into law. The bill signing will be followed by a celebration of the bill’s passage.
WHEN: April 29th at 1:00 pm (the speaking program will begin at approx. 1:15pm)
WHERE: Metropolitan State University of Denver Student Success Building (corner of 9th & Auraria Parkway across from Brooklyn’s and the Pepsi Center)
Following the bill signing elected officials, students and supporters will be available for interviews.
Once the speaking program ends the supporters and students will be invited outside and the students will lead a circle which will allow many others to speak about why ASSET is important to them.
