Spring Break at OJC starts March 18

Students at Otero Junior College will go on spring break from Monday, March 18 through Friday, March 22. They will return to classes on Monday, March 25. The college’s Spring Break coincides with area K-12 school districts.

 

While classes will not be in session, Student Services will be open Monday – Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

 

The OJC Fitness Center will be open:

Saturday, March 16: 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

Sunday, March 17: 1 p.m. – 6 p.m.

Monday, March 18 through-Thursday March 21: 6 a.m. – 8 p.m.

Friday, March 22: 6 a.m. – 7 p.m.

Saturday, March 23: 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Sunday, March 24: Normal Hours 11a.m.-9 p.m.

 

The OJC Bookstore will be open 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. during the week of Spring Break.

 

The OJC Cosmetology Career Academy Salon will be closed.

 

The Starbuck’s coffee shop in the Learning Commons will be closed.

 

When students return to campus on Monday, March 25, they will be able to participate in early registration for Summer and Fall Semesters. On March 25 new and returning students will be able to view the full listing of classes for Summer and Fall Semesters at:

Otero Junior College will host its second Discovery Day event of the year on Wednesday, April 3 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on the OJC campus. The event will begin at 9 a.m. in the college’s new Learning Commons center, located in Wheeler Hall.

 

Guests who register for the event will get a free lunch and attend a Campus Fair, where they can meet with instructors, student club representatives, and student housing representatives. A tour of campus will be provided with short informational sessions about the programs of study available at OJC, the various options available to students to help pay for college, including scholarships and financial aid, and the support OJC offers to students to help them be successful in the classroom. Those that are interested in student housing will also be able to tour the OJC student dormitories.
