Mike Coffman Vote Against Raising the Minimum Wage

Denver – After Rep. Mike Coffman voted this afternoon against a proposal to raise the minimum wage from $7.25 to $10.10 over three years, Colorado Democratic Party Chairman Rick Palacio offered the following reaction:

“Hardworking people in Aurora, Brighton, Centennial, and in between are doing everything they can to make ends meet, but Congressman Coffman can’t bother to support them with a living wage. No one who works full time should be living below the poverty line in the wealthiest nation on earth, but once again, Congressman Coffman showed that he isn’t on the side of people trying to work hard and get ahead. Coloradans won’t tolerate his filling a seat in Washington while failing to stand up for workers here.”
