The Pikes Peak Jazz And Swing Society will hold their 26th annual benefit for the Danny Stevenson Memorial Scholarships on Sunday, March 10, 2013. Music will be provided by Al Eberhardt’s Changing Times Quintet described as “Southern Colorado’s Fabulous Five,” featuring Al Eberhardt on trumpet and vocals, John Turner on piano and vocals, Carlos Crull on Tenor sax and vocals, Wayne Wilkinson on guitar, and Eric Eberhardt on drums and vocals. This highly versatile group will perform a variety of musical styles that appeal to jazz and dance crowds of all ages. In addition to the music, dancing there will also be an amazing assortment of raffle prizes and gift certificates and other surprises to help raise funds for the 2013 college tuition scholarships.
The event will be held at the Olympian Plaza Reception & Events Center, 975 S. Union Blvd. in Colorado Springs, from 1 to 4 p.m. Tickets are $10 general public, $5 society members and are available at the door; reservations are not necessary. There will also be dancing, door prizes, a cash bar plus a full buffet and dessert bar available for purchase.
