Fountain Creek Nature Adventures – Rowdy Raccoons 
Thursday, April 4, 9:00 – 10:30 a.m.
Children ages 3-6, with an adult, will enjoy puppet shows, nature stories, crafts, hands-on activities, and discovery time on the trail. ($4.00 per person, Reservations required, 520-6745)
Interpretive Volunteer Orientation
Saturday, April 6, 9:00 – 11:30 a.m.
Interpretive volunteers play a key role in providing visitor services at El Paso County Nature Centers.  Come to this orientation at Bear
Creek Nature Center to learn more about volunteer opportunities and see if the nature centers are the right fit for your volunteer time.
Volunteers must be 18 or older and complete an application.  Call Paula at 520-6387 or e-mail bcfcvolunteers@gmail.com. Reservations required.
Twos & Threes Outdoors – What’s Wild? What’s Not? 
Thursday, April 11, 9:00 – 10:15 a.m.
Share in the joy of your 2 or 3 year-old child’s discovery as he or she enjoys a story and an exploration hike outdoors. ($3.00 for each participant including adults and siblings, Reservations required, 520-6745)
Water Stewardship Day
Saturday, April 13, 9:00 – Noon
Water is a precious natural resource.  Help clean up Fountain Creek; prepare the water-wise gardens for spring, and remove invasive plants that “steal” water from native plants in the wetlands.  Tools provided, call to reserve a spot for your family or group. Clear Spring Ranch Heron Homecoming Bird Walk
Saturday, April 27, 9:00 a.m. – Noon
Each spring great blue herons return to nesting sites along Fountain Creek and migratory birds pass through this rich riparian area.  Join a birder naturalist on a 6-mile walk to see a heron rookery up close and look for other colorful birds.  Bring binoculars or use one of ours.  ($4.00/member, $5.00/nonmember, Reservations required, 520-6745)
Turtle Time Hike
Saturday, April 27, 10:00 a.m. – Noon
Head outdoors and check out the turtles that came out of their winter slumber.  We’ll also learn about a turtle’s life, lore, and make a craft to take home.  Fun for the whole family! ($4.00/member, $5.00/nonmember, Reservations required, 520-6745)
