Denver– Today, the Senate Appropriations Committee passed three bills that do nothing to improve public safety, and will only impose more burdens on gun owners.
“Because these outrageous bills impose a tax on people for exercising their constitutional rights, I cannot support them,” said Senator Kent Lambert (R-Colorado Springs), the Ranking Member of the committee. “These bills will do more harm than good by increasing the likelihood that hunters and other sportsmen will boycott this state because of the Democrats’ disdain for law-abiding gun owners.”
Senator Ted Harvey (R-Highlands Ranch) and Senator Scott Renfroe (R-Greeley) also voted against the three bills.
The bills will now be heard on Friday on the Senate floor.
