Pocho Joe is the creator of La Raza Rocks and has been host for ten years. He presents Latino rock; music from Sunny & the Sunliners, Santana, Los Lobos, the Iguanas, Los Lonely Boys, and Dr. Loco and the Rockin’ Jalapeno Band, to mention a few. The program is the place on the Denver radio dial to hear the progressive music and messages of Ozomatli,  Quetzal, Alejandro Escovedo, the Blazers, and many more groups, proudly covering the “roots and branches” of Chicano rock-based music.

An anniversary celebration will be held on Sunday, March 3, 2013 at Rick’s Tavern, 6762 Lowell Boulevard, Denver. From 4 to 6pm, Pocho Joe will be spinning the tunes of La Raza Rocks and cake will be served. At 6pm, the Rick Garcia Band takes the stage for a celebratory evening of live Tejano and New Mexico music. No cover charge and no reservations; seating is first-come, first-served. You can contact Rick’s Tavern at 303-427-3427.
