Pueblo Zoo Celebrates Record Breaking Attendance

The Pueblo Zoo is celebrating record attendance for ElectriCritters
2012 holiday event. Over 12,232 visitors enjoyed the holiday lights
at the zoo, a 23 percent increase from 2011.

Volunteers are essential in helping the Zoo run the fun family event
each year. Over 787 volunteer hours helps make this event possible.
Volunteers help with the lights, gift shop, ticket taking, and
education animal presentations. Lighting volunteers begin installing
decorations October 1st. It takes 7 weeks to install the animal
figures and 20 days to take down.

All proceeds from the event go towards the care and feeding of the zoo
animals during the winter months.

The Pueblo Zoo is open year round! Fall and Winter hours are: Monday
through Saturday (9am-4pm) and Sundays (12pm – 4pm). For more
