WITH YOUTH JOB FAIR ON MARCH 7
The Pikes Peak Workforce Center announces the annual Governor’s Summer Job Hunt, which connects youth, ages 16 through 21, with local businesses, to help them find short-term, summer employment.
In El Paso and Teller Counties, the Summer Job Hunt kicks off with a youth job fair on Thursday, March 7, 2013 hosted by the Youth Zone at the Pikes Peak Workforce Center. There is no charge to attend but pre-registration is recommended. Youthmust be at least 16 years old to participate.
Due to current economic conditions, younger youth (14 to 15) are encouraged to seek volunteer opportunities to gain experience and build their resumes for future job opportunities.
WHO: Youth between the ages of 16 and 21 who are looking for full-time or part-time summer employment.
Employers who plan to attend include: AAFES, The Broadmoor, Colorado’s Lion Camp, Garden of the Gods Club, Aramark Pikes Peak, Colorado Springs Electrical JATC, Classic Homes, Colorado Air National Guard, Summit Subway of Colorado, Coca-Cola Refreshments, ACE Hardware, YMCA Of the Pikes Peak Region, Sam’s Club, TwoCor Projects, National Little Britches Rodeo, U.S. Navy, Plumbers/Pipefitters Apprenticeship School Local 58 , Primerica Financial Services, U.S. Marine Corps, Mile High Youth Corps, Denver Department of Safety, Colorado Army National Guard, iT’Z Family Food and Fun, Loaf ‘N Jug, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo Service Systems Associates, Big Air Jumpers, Fish Window Cleaning, Time Warner Cable and more.

WHY: To connect youth with local employers looking to hire for summer and year-round positions.
Job fair attendees should dress appropriately; bring multiple copies of their résumés, and application information to help them fill out applications.
