Lamborn to Serve Second Term as Subcommittee Chairman
To Chair Energy & Mineral Resources Subcommittee in House Natural Resources Committee
House Natural Resources Committee Chairman Doc Hastings (WA-04) today named Congressman Doug Lamborn (CO-05) to a second term as chairman of the House Natural Resources Subcommittee on Energy and Mineral Resources.
The Subcommittee on Energy and Mineral Resources oversees American energy production and mining on the 2 1/2 billion acre federal estate – both onshore and offshore. Republicans on the Subcommittee are committed to the environmentally responsible development of America’s vast energy and mineral resources that will expand our domestic energy supply, create new American jobs, lessen our dependence on foreign sources of energy and minerals, and generate revenue for federal and state treasuries.
Republicans support an all-of-the-above energy approach that includes alternative energy sources such as wind, solar, hydropower, biomass, and nuclear, along with American-made oil, clean coal, and natural gas.
“I am grateful for this opportunity to once again play a leading role in developing our nation’s natural resources. America’s vast energy supplies must be responsibly developed as part of a balanced approach to creating jobs and restoring our economy. I will work closely with our committee chairman and colleagues to craft an agenda for the next Congress that reflects our country’s need fo create jobs, protect the environment, and improve government efficiency.” –Doug Lamborn (CO-05)
