For the first time in his career, the artist delighted his public with a live online concert direct from Miami, where he performed songs from his international #1 album, “La Música No Se Toca”, along with a selection of his greatest hits
The time was 7pm EST/4pm PST when Alejandro Sanz took the stage in front of a group of select fans, VIPs and media yesterday to perform songs from his latest album, “La Música No Se Toca”, in an unprecedented live stream seen by hundreds of thousands of fans around the world on Terra.com.
The Spanish singer-songwriter kicked off the night with his most recent hit, “Se Vende”, the second single from “La Música No Se Toca”, followed by “Desde Cuando” and “Camino de Rosas”, a song that became one of the favorites of the night as it became a worldwide trending topic on Twitter during its webcast. After an hour of performing, and at the crowd’s request, Alejandro performed one more song before saying his goodbyes.
“La Música No Se Toca”, his first album with his new recording home Universal Music, debuted at #1 in sales in 18 countries including the U.S., where he posted up at #1 on iTunes for four weeks and is currently the #1 pop album in the country (5 weeks) according to Soundscan. “No Me Compares”, the first single from the album was #1 in the U.S. and Puerto Rico for two weeks and it’s the only pop record in 2012, that has maintained within radios Top 10 for five weeks. Additionally, “No Me Compares” snatched two nominations (“song of the year” and “record of the year”) at the thirteenth annual Latin GRAMMY awards, where Alejandro will be performing live. “La Musica No Se Toca” is quadruple platinum in Spain, double platinum in Colombia, platinum in Mexico and gold in Venezuela and Argentina and continues to be one of the Top 5 selling albums in Latin America.
