Marian House Needs Help with Holiday Meals

Marian House Needs Help with Holiday Meals

With Thanksgiving just 2 weeks away, we are planning the Thanksgiving meal in the Marian House Soup Kitchen as well as preparing food boxes for our needy families for Thanksgiving. We need more than 500 turkeys. So far, we have received less than 50.

We also need the following items for the food boxes: boxes of instant mashed potatoes; canned vegetables; canned pumpkin for pies and pie crusts; boxes or bags of stuffing/dressing, Jello, and small marshmallows; canned yams, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, gravy, and fruit. Food boxes need to be delivered by Monday, November 19th, so any donations for food boxes should be delivered by Friday, November 16th.

Marian House serves more than 600 meals most days at the soup kitchen, and we usually give out 350 – 500 food boxes to needy families and outlying food pantries. Anything you can give will be greatly appreciated!

Donations can be dropped off at Marian House, 14 West Bijou Street, on the west end of the building at the dock, from 8am – 2pm, Monday – Saturday.

If you have any question, please call. Thank you in advance for helping us serve the neediest in our community.
