Time To Get Your Spooky On At The Manitou Springs Heritage Center

The Manitou Springs Heritage Center has launched a new website – www.emmacrawfordfestival.com – featuring information about events and happenings during the month of October.
“We purchased the domain a few years ago and this year we decided it was time to launch the site” stated Boardmember Kevin Abney. “We are excited to feature the Heritage Center’s activities and post information on the other events happening all during the month.”
The events planned (so far) at the Heritage Center are:
 October 6th Showing of “Walking History of the Elkhorn Lodge”
 October 20th Showing of Walking History of the Elkhorn Lodge”
Doors open at 7:00 pm; Show starts at 7:30 on both dates
Tickets are $6 Adults; $3 Children under 16
 October 27 18th Annual “Ghost Stories of Old Manitou” Walking tours
The tours tell the stories of real people who lived or died in remarkable ways in Manitou Springs. The ghosts come back to visit on this one night and the tours feature at least one new or different ghost each year. Tours are approximately 45 minutes long and depart from the Manitou Springs Heritage Center (517 Manitou Avenue) starting at 5:30 p.m. and leave every 15 minutes until the last tour at 9:00 p.m. Tickets are now on sale at the Manitou Springs Heritage Center for $10 adults and $5 children 4-12. (Historic Manitou members receive $2 off adult and $1 of children’s tickets). Advance tickets are recommended as the tours usually sell out.
Also, for people interesting in helping, there are a few volunteer positions left to assist with tour preparations and to “channel” the ghosts and spirit guides the night of the tour. Parts big and small for a variety of people are still available, but are going fast. Anyone interested in “exercising” their dramatic talents or who want to work behind the scenes are encouraged to contact the Heritage Center by October 20th.
