In a continued effort to support small businesses and the economy, Colorado State University-Pueblo has partnered with local organizations to provide businesses an opportunity to network with upcoming graduates of CSU-Pueblo and Pueblo Community College. A Student to Community Mixer will begin at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, October 10 in the Occhiato University Center Hearthwell Lounge with a goal of keeping a skilled workforce available for our community and local businesses.
“A primary goal of the CSU-Pueblo Alumni Association is to engage our students with the Alumni Association while they are still on campus,” said Tracy Samora, CSU-Pueblo alumni director. “We want to illustrate the value of being an alumnus of CSU-Pueblo.”
Samora said bringing together leaders of our business community and our current students serves two purposes. The first is connecting current students with decision-makers and business leaders in our community which could lead to internships and possible employment opportunities. This event also illustrates the Alumni Association’s commitment to economic development in our community by highlighting the outstanding students receiving their education at CSU-Pueblo, connecting them with potential employers, thus encouraging them to stay in Pueblo and build their careers, contributing to the economic development of our community.”
