Colorado Springs, CO – Colorado Springs Fire Department firefighters were dispatched to a reported structure fire located at 10 Chase Lane at 10:46am on October 1, 2012. Broadmoor Fire Department had been in the area on a smoke investigation and found the source of the smoke coming from the home. When the first CSFD engine arrived, they saw heavy smoke coming from the basement of the home. They found the fire to have started in the utility room of the home in the basement.
CSFD responded along with Broadmoor Fire to this call with two fire engines, two fire trucks and 2 support apparatus. CSFD had 18 firefighters on scene working to put out the fire. The home was vacant and no one was home at the time of the fire. There were no injuries reported and no one has been displaced. The cause of the fire is still under investigation but is believed to be accidental. The damage is estimated to be $46,226 and the amount of property saved is estimated to be $693,392.
